The house

A 1925 villa with just four rooms

Villa Les Agaves was built in 1925 by a family of horticulturists, back when Hyères shipped its palm trees all over Europe. We restored it stone by stone: lime-washed walls, the original terracotta floor tiles, and cement tiles rediscovered under old linoleum.

Just four rooms, to keep things quiet and to have time to welcome you properly. In the morning, breakfast is served under the vine; in the afternoon, the pool and sun loungers await in the shade of the olive trees.

A dry garden, planted for the sun

Agaves, olive trees, oleanders and curry plants: Claire designed a garden that needs almost no watering and blooms from April to June.

Around the villa

The Golden Isles, the salt marshes and the beach

A wooded island and sailing boats at anchor in turquoise water

Porquerolles and Port-Cros

The boat to Porquerolles leaves from La Tour Fondue, 25 minutes away by car; the one to Port-Cros leaves from Hyères harbour. We lend you a cool box and dry bags.

The flamingos of the Vieux Salins

At the end of the lane, the old salt marshes are home to flamingos and stilts all year round. A trail and a bird hide let you get close without disturbing them.

The beach, five minutes away

The long, peaceful Salins beach is a five-minute walk away. For kitesurfing, head to L’Almanarre; for coves, follow the Giens peninsula.

What our guests remember

  • We came for three nights and stayed a week. Breakfast under the vine and Antoine’s tips for Port-Cros are worth the trip alone.

    Élodie M.

  • The Port-Cros Room and its balcony: we had every coffee there, facing the sea. A charming house, kept with great care.

    Marc et Julie

  • Ideal for families: the Olive Tree Suite, the pool for the children and the beach on foot. Claire even lent us a parasol.

    Famille R.

  • Very quiet, a stone’s throw from the salt marshes. Book early for July: the house fills up fast.

    Thomas K.

  • The flamingos at sunset, ten minutes away by bike: a magical moment. Thank you for lending us the bikes!

    Ana P.
